OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2022 CSRI is a response to vulnerability of Tanzanians in health, illiteracy and capacity, skills and effectiveness in the labour market.

The vision of the founders was to have CSRI as an integral part of research-connected initiatives that put in place sustainable interventions while appreciating the cultures, customs, and traditions of Tanzania. The five founding members of the organization wanted to enable and expand the acquisition of life skills needed to meet the health issues, enhanced reproductive health and changing needs of education and employment industry and the economy as well. This aspiration was to also reduce health related risks through youth-friendly reproductive health care and social asset building, mobilize communities for change with school/community-based HIV and violence prevention, reduce HIV infection risk of sex partners through prevention programming, including HIV testing, treatment, and voluntary medical male circumcision and strengthen families with social/community protection (maternal programs, education subsidies, socio-economic approaches, environmental protection, child protection and human rights and parent/caregiver/elderly programs.
